Kenya is a developing country in East Africa with a population of about 39,000,000. Majority are peasant farmers and live in the countryside where most survive on less than one dollar a day for their livelihood. Poor infrastructure, Poverty, disease and ignorance have persisted since independence in 1960.
According to the current statistics by UNICEF, 10% of children under 5 years die of 100 % preventable and curable diseases. Malaria claims over 36,000 children's lives yearly due to lack of prevention and late treatment of victims. It is estimated that close to 2,000,000 people of all ages live with HIV/AIDS of which 65% are infected with Tuberculosis.
